Passed it again….

I just finished the 5th lesson test for Corellian First Degree Wicca. I noted a comment made on an earlier post of mine, telling me that the information was incorrect, etc. First of all, there is a lot of disagreement on whether or not Wiccans should refer to themselves or be referred to as, Witches. No, you need not be Wiccan to be a Witch. Nor do you need to be a Witch to be Wiccan. I know several Wiccans who do not practice magick or witchcraft at all.

However, truthfully, it is up to one’s personal opinion as to whether or not to call oneself “Witch” regardless of whether or not they are Wiccan. WitchSchool.com is not a bad place to receive Wicca education, nor is it giving incorrect information. In fact, MANY people I have told I am Wiccan have automatically responded with “Oh, you’re a witch then.” These are people who know nothing about Wicca. Also, there are many Wiccan traditions trying to “reclaim” the word Witch in conjunction with Wicca.

If the person who suggested I cancel my membership with WitchSchool.com had actually properly read the information in front of them, they would have noted that the author of the lesson stated that he used witchcraft and Wicca interchangeably because that is how he was taught. When he learned about Wicca, witchcraft and Wicca were not being so heavily divided.  He states that now Wicca is being used to more or less refer to Gardnerian and Alexandrian Traditions, but that it is not how he would be using Wicca in his lessons.

In future,  if you have an adverse opinion of how I choose to receive my education in my chosen path, I’d appreciate you keeping the comments to yourself. Wicca is a path of one’s own making, and there is NO RIGHT OR WRONG way to do it. Thank you.
