Yule Time Music

One of my favorite things about the Yule/Christmas season is, well, the music. I’m a complete and total music lover and Yule/Christmas tunes are my favorites. I have/had CDs of Yule/Christmas music from various sources, and have loved most, if not all of them. Some of my favorites, whether I still own them or not, are:

Merry Christmas - Mariah Carey
Home for Christmas - *NSYNC
The Winter Album - *NSYNC (import)
A Winter Garden - Loreena McKennitt (discontinued)
To Drive the Cold Winter Away - Loreena McKennitt

Those are just some of the CDs I’ve had over the years and they’re my favorites. The only one I’m missing is Home for Christmas, as it disappeared into thin air at one point. I’m hoping to be able to find some of my favorites on MP3 or rip them to MP3 so I can place them on my iPod or phone for playing this holiday season.

Why in blazed can’t anyone produce an extremely simple, easy to use, ERROR FREE forum program? EVERY forum I have tried except phpBB has given errors out the nose, and I detest phpBB for it’s extremely complicated themes. That forum is almost impossible to customize and I will not use it - EVER.

Expanding and extending

I’ve been thinking of ways to expand and extend Got-Wicca.Org the past couple of weeks. I’m toying with the idea of bringing back the content that used to grace this website - but I’m not sure what to bring back, what to leave off, or if I should just start over new. I’m going to play around a bit with a plugin for WordPress that integrates a forum into the site, not that I’ve ever managed to have a popular forum in my life, but you know. Just for kicks, why not have one if I can.

I still need to get in touch with the people who responded to my invitation to guest blog on this blog. I also need to decide if I want to run the whole site via WordPress or if I want to have a separate site from the blog. *sigh* This should be fairly interesting to say the least. If you have any ideas for me, let me know. I appreciate any ideas you might have for what you want to see.

This is not a political blog and frankly, I don’t want it to be a political blog, but I must say, I am highly pleased that Obama won this election. I sent silent prayers to the Goddess that the appropriate man would be elected to the office and I now feel that those prayers have been answered. May the next four years be filled with light, love, and laughter.

I thought today I would blog about the little blessings I have, just to remind myself that it isn’t as bad as it seems.

I am blessed that my sore throat finally left - so I could go to work and talk on the phone all day long.

I am blessed to have a job that provides a higher-than-minimum wage.

I am blessed that said job does offer insurance benefits, no matter how icky they are, because I’ve had jobs that didn’t.

I am blessed to have friends who pay for my cell phone when I’m too strapped to do so myself & who take me to & from work even though I can’t pay for gas.

I am blessed to have many friends both online and offline.

So things aren’t as bad as they seem - although right now, with what I’m charged for my insurance, I’m beginning to wonder if I shouldn’t drop it. LOL I probably won’t, but still. LOL

An Invitation

I was just thinking about this blog and my new podcast - and I had a thought. While I can’t really do guests on my podcast due to my recording it via telephone (I use my cell phone which though it has speaker, we’d have to be in the same room together for it to work), I have been considering having guest bloggers here at Got-Wicca.Org. Now the topics would be up to the blogger, but if anyone were to be interested in possibly being a guest blogger here at Got-Wicca.Org, you can leave a comment on this post. I’d be more than happy to post an article for you.

I’ve been considering making the blog less of the focus of the site and resurrecting the informational portion of the site, making it first and foremost a resource site for Wiccans. I’d love to be able to start a community type of site for Wiccans to enjoy. So if you would be interested in becoming a guest blogger here on Got-Wicca.Org, like I said, leave a comment, and I’ll get back to you as soon as I can.

I Am Registered

I am now officially registered to vote in the state of Iowa. I registered today at the local driver’s license station - and I will be receiving my precinct information just in time for the election. I’m voting Obama/Biden, but it would seem that my friends here that I hang out with are voting McCain/Palin. I’m sincerely hoping that McCain/Palin does not get into office - but of course, if I don’t vote, I don’t have a right to complain about it.

No More Entrecard

If you came here to drop an Entrecard I’m sorry, but it’s gone. After having a blog deleted for supposedly being a duplicate blog - the blog had a couple of entries linking to other blogs, yet had mostly it’s OWN content, it was deleted. Entrecard refuses to reinstate the blog, even after those posts were deleted(which honestly, I was using Ping.fm to post those blurbs and had been under the impression it was a sidebar include, not an actually blog post), and so I have decided that Entrecard is not worth my time. Besides, very few of the blogs that tried to advertise here were actually aligned with my content - the same on all my other blogs - so I have decided it’s not worth it.

No More Entrecard
