Out of curiosity and boredom, I decided to use my Mystic Faerie Tarot deck and do one of the spreads from the back of the Mystic Faerie Tarot book. I chose the Faerie Ring Spread, which requires the following:

The above image is how you lay out the cards. What you do is you need to seperate your deck into Major Arcana, Wands, Cups, Swords, Pentacles, and Court Cards. Then shuffle each section seperately and place each stack as follows:

1. Major Arcana
2. Wands
3. Cups
4. Swords
5. Pentacles
6. Court Cards

Then you take the top card from each stack. From 1-6 they represent the following:

1. Your greatest spiritual strength
2. Your most enterprising characteristic
3. Your best emotional strength
4. Your strongest response to problems
5. Your most admirable financial/resource ability
6. Your favorite aspect of your personality.

Take the bottom card from each stack and cross it over the top card. From 1-6 these cards represent the following:

1. Your greatest spiritual challenge
2. Your biggest problematic attitude
3. Your greates emotional challenge
4. Your worst fear when facing problems
5. Your financial/resource weakness
6. Your least favorite aspect of your personality

My spread when as follows:

1. The Moon crossed by The Tower
2. 3 of Wands crossed by Six of Wands
3. 3 of Cups crossed by 4 of Cups
4. 7 of Swords crossed by 10 of Swords
5. 10 of Pentacles crossed by 3 of Pentacles
6. Queen of Cups crossed by Knight of Cups

The Moon card’s most prominent feature was the howling wolf by the Goddess’ side. This indicates to me that there is great loyalty to the Goddess. However, this card was crossed by The Tower which indicated to me that there is a tendency towards doom and disaster or negative thinking. Therefore I am loyal to what I believe in, but I have a difficult time keeping from having negative thoughts and feelings.

The 3 of Wands showed two boys studying a book – providing me with the knowledge that I am studious and willing to learn new things. However, this was crossed by the 6 of Wands which showed one boy lifting a baby dragon in it’s shell and another boy looking on as if he doesn’t believe it. This let me know that skepticism is my greatest downfall, because I don’t always believe what and when I should.

The 3 of Cups showed a group of three friends sitting talking, which lets me know that I am friendly, caring, and willing to listen to those who are in need of a shoulder to cry on. However, the boy and girl faeries sitting back to back looking disgruntled with each other on the the 4 of Cups lets me know that I am argumentive and really should work on not being so stubborn.

The 7 of Swords shows me that I can be nurturing even when facing obstacles and that it is possible for me to overcome obstacles when necessary to do what needs to be done. However the 10 of Swords reminds me that I tend to be bound by my past failures and that I do not easily forget them and sometimes allow them to rule what I do and do not do.

The 10 of Pentacles shows that I am fruitful in what I do and that I share the fruits of my labors with others willingly, while the 3 of Pentacles reminds me that I often question the wisdom of things that I or others do even when I should not do so or it would not benefit me to do so.

Finally, the Queen of Cups shows that I am confident in my abilities and that I am capable of doing what needs to be done. The Knight of Cups, however, shows that I am always ready for battles, always ready to argue, even when I should just go with the flow and let my confidence in what I am doing and what others are doing take control.

Of course we have on Twitter our #amtarot and #pmtarot. There is also a daily #2card that I do not participate in more out of apathy than anything else. I rarely even remember to participate in #amtarot and #pmtarot. I am planning on getting into this habit, even if I don’t tweet the meanings, but blog them. I am also wanting to get into the habit of blogging like I should here. So here we go.

The card drawn for #pmtarot on 07/17/2009 is the 5 of Wands. I am using the Mystic Faerie Tarot deck for this particular reading. The 5 of Wands shows me two young men sitting, talking, with one handing the other an egg. The one who is passing the egg looks as though he is attempting to gift the other with the egg, while the recipient has a look of confusion as if to ask “what do I want that for?” This indicates to me that there is something coming your way that you are either not going to be happy about or are not going to know what to do with/about. It could be a multitude of things, but a conflict is definitely a possibility. A change could also be what is causing this effect, so be on the look out for conflicts or changes.

Well, when my best friend was on vacation and I was staying at her place (internet access lol), I decided to do the #amtarot and #pmtarot readings on Twitter via video. My laptop that I purchased back in February has a built in web camera and I figured I may as well make use of it. Below is my first tarot reading video. I have one or two more of them, which I will eventually post here for your viewing pleasure. I am not sure if it is YouTube’s issue or what that my audio and video do not match up, as when I play the version on my hard drive, it is fine. :/

I have been considering looking for a new apartment for a while now. My question to the cards was if I should look for a new apartment at this point in time. I used my Tarot of a Moon Garden deck and got a quite appropriate response.

1) 10 of Pentacles

3) The Empress

1. On a journey, possibly seeking out my home or headed towards my home.

2. Fighting for my home – trying to keep others from taking over or taking it from me.

3. Sitting on plenty – no need to change or take a risk losing what I have. What I have is plenty.

Finding my current apartment was a trial and a journey to say the least. Where I live, places that take pets are few and far between and I refuse to give up my beautiful furbabies.

I have had to fight these past few months to keep my current apartment. Financial issues have made paying my rent an interesting little dance and so I’ve had to get rid of somethings in my life and dodge eviction by the skin of my teeth.

I am sitting on plenty. I have an apartment, it allows me to have my pets, and I am able to make my rent payments in bits and pieces. I have what I need and at this time I should simply give thanks for what I do have and not worry about what I don’t. The time will come when moving is the right thing to do, but that time is not now.

I have some bills I need to pay today but don’t quite have enough money to pay them all. I wondered if I might be able to make arrangements that would be satisfactory to all parties involved. I used my Rider Waite deck for this reading.

1. Sense of rushing – jumping to conclusions about how a situation will turn out. Rushing in with expectations.

2. Choices must be considered, but I am being watched from above and can know that my choices are all acceptable.

3. Things looking up. While it may seem to be a bleak or blank horizon, keep looking up and everything will work out fine.

I have a bad habit of “fantasizing” about how things will turn out, and usually those conclusions in my head turn out in a very negative way. Especially when it comes to making arrangements for bills. Usually that turns out badly in my head and true to what is told in the book The Secret, what I’ve decided is going to happen usually does.

I do have choices to make. How much on each bill am I going to pay. I need to pay each bill an amount that leaves me with very little left to pay on it for the next time I go in to make a payment. That’s easier with one bill than with the other to be perfectly honest about it. However, I do have choices and the Goddess and my helper spirits are watching over me, making sure that I know that all decisions I make are going to be acceptable.

If I keep looking up instead of at the horizon, things will get better. I’ll get the results I need and everyone will be satisfied all around. I just need to remember to keep my head up and my eyes to the sky.

I did a reading today, asking, of all things, about my current financial situation. Without going into detail, a very unexpected debt fell into my lap, and I haven’t had much success in making payment arrangements that were satisfactory to the agency I owe and still allow me to do basic things like pay rent and buy groceries. I used my Rider-Waite Deck for this one and was surprised again to see that it had spoken to me. Perhaps we are finally warming up to each other.

I found it very odd that all three cards came up in reversed position. I’ve never had a reading like that before. I’ve had all three be upright and a mix of upright and reversed, but never all three reversed.

1. A feeling of weakness or helplessness. Feeling out of control of life.

2. Sense of injustice as if there are no second chances. Sense of no one caring or trying to help.

3. There are those who care, who will try to help me out. It’s a high “tree” to climb, but the rewards are at the top and there is always a helping hand in sight.

Now the first two cards honestly were spot-on, as I’ve been dealing with various people at the place I owe trying to get them to understand the situation from my point of view. I understand theirs – they want their money. They need to understand mine – I have to be able to take care of basic needs – and the options they give me are not appropriate to the situation on my end of things – and are the only options they are willing to consider.

The loose leaves on the Ace of Wands, when reversed look like hearts which gave me a sense that there are those who care and who will attempt to help me out. The wand is a high tree to climb, but there’s always a helping hand in sight, and when I get to the top, everything will be all right.

Well, I did another 3 card reading today. It’s been a while since I’ve done one, and I wanted to know how my current situation is looking from the cards’ point of view. I used my Rider-Waite deck this time, and surprisingly the cards spoke to me this time. I was quite pleased that they had. Remember, I’m using my intuition for what the cards mean, I’m not going by what the “meanings” of the cards are that have been written down by others.

1. The Devil
2. King of Wands (reversed)
3. 6 of Pentacles

The Devil gave me a sense of oppression in the past, of not having as much freedom in the past as I would have liked.

King of Wands (r) gave me a sense of discontentment, of not being satisfied with the current situation.

6 of Pentacles gave me a sense of Justice prevailing, second chances being given, and aid or advice being given.

All in all, I was, as I said before, quite pleased that my Rider-Waite deck spoke to me. What I find interesting is that the meaning of the King of Wands (r) is Good but severe, austere yet tolerant. That wasn’t exactly the feeling I got from the card, but then again, I’ve discovered that intuition plays more of a role in reading the cards than do the meanings that have been “assigned” to them.

Yesterday I pulled another 3 card reading for myself using my Tarot of a Moon Garden deck. This time my question was more general – What would the day bring?

Past – Four of Cups
Present – The Fool
Future – Two of Cups

Here are my interpretations of the cards:

Four of Cups – Contemplations/meditation over my options and over how these options affect my relationships with others.

The Fool – Freedom to do as I wish. The choices are many and they are all in my hands. Whatever way I choose, the path is at my feet. I just need to remember those who are loyal to me.

Two of Cups – There are people who will love me and care aobut me regardless of my choices. My decisions will not harm my relationships with others around me, unless I allow them to.

All in all, I feel that this reading told me that regardless of choices that I may come across, the people who care about me will continue to care about me, and that my choices are just that – my choices. They are there for me to take, and there is more than one path that I can choose.

I did a 3 card spread for myself on April 21, 2008. I was asking if a change in occupation or workplace was something that I should be focusing on. From the Tarot of a Moon Garden deck I drew the following cards.

Past – The Hierophant

Present – The World

Future – Three of Staffs

I wish I had pictures of these cards but right now, I’m on my laptop and I don’t have any way to get them at the moment.

Here are my interpretations of the cards in question:

The Hierophant – Oppression. Bowing to the will of others, doing what I am told to do regardless of what is really best for me. Allowing others to convince me to do things I don’t want to or know are not right for me. – This was my past.

The World – In control of my own destiny, I need not worry, I can finally relax and “dance” and be carefree, knowing I can make the right decision for me. – This is my present.

Three of Staffs – A journey away from where I am now. A new job or a new home – some sort of journey to a new start. – This is my future.

All in all, I feel that the cards are letting me know that if I choose to, now is a good time to make a change in my career. This seems to be in keeping with the fact that I have an interview on Friday with a prospective new employer.
